How do I sign up?![]()

How much does it cost?![]()
Absolutely nothing! Nada! Nicht! Zilch! Our STEM competition is completely free! No catches… All the lesson plans, PowerPoints and resources are included. The winners will even get their design made and installed by Ambic for free! 💰![]()

Can I sign up after the packs have been sent out? ![]()
Yes! You can sign up any time and the resources will be sent to you via a email link. The latest you can sign up is a week before the submission date. If you sign up after this you will be included in next years competition.👍![]()

What do we need to include in our entry?![]()
We don’t mind how your pupils present their entry as long as we can clearly see their design and have it either labelled with the materials to be used or a short description. We also need to know what the problem was within the school that the piece of furniture is solving. ✍️![]()

What do the judges look for in a winning design?![]()
Ingenuity, originality and manufacturable ability. These are the 3 key things are panel of experts are looking for in a winning design. Think carefully when designing that whilst it needs to be different we also need to be able to make it! We all love the idea of a gravity defying, rocket fuelled chair to whizz us around a classroom, but Ambic can’t manufacture that just yet! 🤪 ![]()

So what can we actually design?![]()
Although, in theory there isn’t a budget to work to, please remember this is a furniture design challenge. In the past we have had schools design classrooms full of furniture, focus more on the problem and design a piece of furniture to resolve it. (If you do need a full classroom refit our sales team can help with that!) 🧑💻![]()

Don’t worry, all the lesson plans are included whether you want to teach it as a one off lesson or spread it across a few weeks. All our lesson plans come with the relevant resources and have been linked to the national curriculum. 📚![]()

Last week, we officially kicked off this years STEM Challenge with the hope of getting the word out to as many schools and teachers as possible! 📢![]()

We want to beat last year’s record of 5000 pupils involved so get signed up as lesson plans, PowerPoints and all the resources you will need will be sent out to everyone on Monday 28th April! 💌![]()

Your pupils will then have 6 weeks to get designing! Whether you run it as a whole school competition or a specific group task, let their imagination run wild to solve a problem within your school. Design submissions must be in by the 13th June! 💭![]()

Pupils won’t have long to wait as the winners will be announced a week later on the 20th June! 🎉![]()
